TORRID CELEBRATES NEWEST STORE AT POUGHKEEPSIE GALLERIA
Poughkeepsie, NY, May 4, 2016 – TORRID, America’s fastest growing plus-size fashion brand, announced it will open its 396th retail store at Poughkeepsie Galleria in Poughkeepsie, NY on June 7, 2016, and will hold its grand opening event on Saturday, June 11, starting at 10 a.m.
“Our customers love our fashion collections and exceptional fit, and have been very vocal about wanting us to expand our store base,” said Lisa Harper, Torrid CEO. “Sixty-eight percent of women in the U.S. wear our sizes, but this market represents only 17 percent of the women’s fashion retail industry. We want to offer apparel and accessories that fit their sense of style, while helping them look and feel great.”
Torrid’s collections of fashion apparel, accessories, swimwear, lingerie and shoes are designed exclusively for women sizes 10 to 30—each piece is made and constructed specifically to fit and flatter curvy figures, rather than being a “sized up” version of a fashion piece. Once developed, each piece is tried and tested on women of different sizes and shapes to ensure a fit that’s unmatched in the industry.
“Our jeans are an example of our commitment to an exceptional fit,” said Harper. “For example, all women struggle to find the right cut of denim for their body and style. The 2235 square-foot Torrid store is located on the lower level near Macy’s. Torrid will celebrate the store’s grand opening event at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 11.
